1. Comprehensive Disclaimer of Warranties

The website, published articles, electronic files, metadata, and digital services of the Pakistan Journal of Clinical Research (PJCR) are provided strictly on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PJCR expressly disclaims all warranties, express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability, data accuracy, security, and non-infringement.

2. Absolute Limitation of Liability & Hold Harmless

Under no circumstances—including contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or statutory claims—shall PJCR, its publisher, editors, board members, employees, hosting providers, or contractors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages. This includes, without limitation, loss of academic standing, loss of employment, missed promotion opportunities, loss of research funding, data corruption, site downtime, or third-party indexing removal. Accessing the journal or submitting manuscripts constitutes an express, binding waiver of any right to institute litigation, legal claims, arbitration, or administrative proceedings against PJCR.

3. Third-Party Autonomy & Indexing Non-Guarantee

PJCR operates independently from third-party search engines, abstracting databases, citation indices, registries, and accreditation bodies (including, but not limited to, Google Scholar, HEC, DOAJ, Scopus, Web of Science, PubMed, PASTIC, and Crossref, BASE, OpenAlex, and Scilit). Indexing, ranking, crawling, delisting, or coverage decisions are executed exclusively at the sole discretion of those third-party entities. PJCR makes no warranty or representation regarding external inclusion, search visibility, or citation metrics. Delisting or non-indexing by a third party shall not create any cause of action, right of refund, or legal liability against PJCR.

4. Technical Continuity, Security & Force Majeure

PJCR is not liable for service interruptions, website downtime, server migrations, database corruption, DNS failures, cybersecurity incidents (such as unauthorized access, malware, or DDoS attacks), or force majeure events (including telecommunications failure, natural disaster, power outage, or regulatory interference). Temporary or permanent inability to access published content or metadata does not invalidate, retract, or compromise the underlying editorial publication status.

5. Sole & Exclusive Remedy for Stakeholders

The sole and exclusive remedy available to any author, reader, or third party for any technical malfunction, access issue, or dispute arising out of or related to this journal is to request technical review by the PJCR Editorial Office. PJCR retains total discretion over technical and editorial remedies. Submission of a manuscript or utilization of the journal's web infrastructure operates as an unconditional covenant not to sue PJCR, its editors, or its operating institutions in any court or tribunal worldwide.

6. Severability & Complete Agreement

If any provision of this Policy is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be severed or modified to the minimum extent necessary, and all remaining provisions shall remain fully enforceable and legally binding.
